On the banks of the river Ljungan, deep in the pine forests of northern Sweden, Eka Chemicals' Alby plant is located. This is the world's leading production centre for Potassium Chlorate. The production of Potassium Chlorate in the current location of the plant dates as far back as 1898.

The raw materials used in the production of Potassium Chlorate are chloride, electrical energy and water. Potassium Chlorate is

formed through electrolysis and crystallisation, with final properties formed through grinding and sieving.
